Regulation of Aged Care
The Royal Commission will hold a public hearing in Brisbane from Monday 5 August 2019 to Friday 9 August 2019. The public hearing will inquire into the regulation of aged care, with a focus on:
- regulation of quality and safety in aged care and how aspects of the current regulatory system operate
- different approaches to regulation, including in other sectors
- how regulation and oversight of quality and safety in aged care could be improved.
The Royal Commission has approached the bodies and individuals from whom it seeks evidence for this public hearing.
Leave to appear
Applications for leave to appear at the public hearing from anyone who considers that they have a direct and substantial interest in the public hearing must be received by 5pm (ACST) on Friday 19 July 2019.
Individuals who have been invited or required to give evidence at the public hearing are invited to make an application for leave to appear. Any application for leave to appear will be determined in accordance with Practice Guideline 3 and must be made using the Royal Commission's application form.
