The Royal Commission will hold a public hearing in Darwin from Monday 8 July 2019 to Friday 12 July 2019, and in Cairns from Monday 15 July 2019 to Wednesday 17 July 2019. At these public hearings the Royal Commission will inquire into:
- aspects of care in residential, home and flexible aged care programs, including:
- accessibility and availability
- wound, medication and pain management
- nutrition and hydration
- continence care
- social supports
rural and regional issues for service delivery of aged care
- quality of life for people receiving aged care
Leave to appear
Applications for leave to appear at the public hearing from anyone who considers that they have a direct and substantial interest in the public hearing must be received by 5pm (ACST) on Friday 21 June 2019.
Individuals who have been invited or required to give evidence at the public hearing are invited to make an application for leave to appear. Where an individual is giving evidence on behalf of an organisation, the organisation is invited to apply. Any application for leave to appear will be determined in accordance with Practice Guideline 3 and must be made using the Royal Commission's application form.
