Aged care operations of selected Approved Providers
The Royal Commission will hold a public hearing in Hobart from Monday 11 November 2019 to Friday 15 November 2019 focusing on the governance of particular approved providers of aged care services, and the impact of that governance on the quality and safety of care.
At this public hearing, the Royal Commission will inquire into the operations of Southern Cross Care (Tas) Inc, particularly at Glenara Lakes Apartments and Yaraandoo Hostel, and Bupa Aged Care Australia at Bupa South Hobart aged care facility.
The Royal Commission has approached the bodies and individuals from whom it seeks evidence for this public hearing.

Leave to appear
Applications for leave to appear at the public hearing from anyone who considers that they have a direct and substantial interest in the matters that will be examined at the public hearing must be received by 5pm (ACST) on Wednesday 30 October 2019.
Individuals who have been invited or required to give evidence at the public hearing are invited to make an application for leave to appear. Any application for leave to appear will be determined in accordance with Practice Guideline 3 and must be made using the Royal Commission’s application form.
