Consultation Paper

The consultation paper examines how aged care is funded in Australia and overseas, and considers a range of options that have the potential to transform the way aged care is funded and delivered in Australia. 

These propositions were provided in draft form to the proposed panel participants for Adelaide Workshop 2, for the purpose of testing ideas relating to research, innovation and technology as those topics relate to aged care.

In these submissions, Counsel Assisting outline their current proposals for farreaching changes in aged care program design.

Counsel Assisting's submissions recommend the implementation of a holistic package that will, over time, make aged care a more attractive sector in which to work. This will help to retain the current workforce and attract new workers to the sector.

The Royal Commissioners, the Honourable Tony Pagone QC and Ms Lynelle Briggs AO, released a consultation paper that explores options for future design of aged care programs. The model set out in the paper is intended to support people to pursue and enjoy meaning and quality of life whether in their own home or a residential service.
