The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety Interim Report released

Aged Care in Australia: A Shocking Tale of Neglect

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety’s Interim Report has found the aged care system fails to meet the needs of its older, vulnerable, citizens. It does not deliver uniformly safe and quality care, is unkind and uncaring towards older people and, in too many instances, it neglects them.

Errata

The following corrections now appear in the digital version of the Interim Report:

Volume 1

Figure 1.3 Home Care Packages 2018—2019

Totals showing the number of Home Care Packages released at each of the four levels that apply were erroneously preceded by dollar signs in the printed edition. These have been removed for the creation of the digital file and labelling within the diagram has been expanded upon. Collective totals have been added too.
